Charity Quilts, Raffle Quilts, Auction Quilts
Quilts are a wonderful way to raise money for a cause that is important to you, or simply to donate to an organization that will give a quilt directly to someone in need. Every year I receive numerous requests to quilt charity quilts. Please understand that I want to help everyone, but it is simply not possible.
Every year I donate well over a hundred hours of quilting labor to many worthy organizations, and I will continue to do the same this year. (Please note, donated labor is NOT tax deductible). After much consideration, I have established the following guidelines to help determine whether or not I can donate my time to your cause.
I will consider quilting your donation quilt if you are a member of an organization in which I participate, or if you are a regular customer of Valentine Quiltworks. If you are not a customer, please consider asking your quilter to donate his/her time.
One donation quilt per customer, or one quilt per organization, per two year period.
I quilt donation quilts as time permits. If I accept your quilt, it will be scheduled with customer quilts in the order in which they are received, so please plan accordingly. Allover quilting designs only, no custom quilting.
Raffle/auction quilts will generally be given a 10% discount off labor. Other quilts that are donated directly will be considered on an individual basis. Please note that you must provide the backing, and purchase batting from me.
If you have a donation quilt that you would like to have considered, please send me an email with your name, the size and description of the quilt, some details about the charity that will receive the donation, how the quilt will be donated (raffle, direct, etc.) and the date you need the quilting to be finished.
I hope we can all work together for this worthwhile endeavor.
Thank you.

Please Note: I have accomplished my annual charity goals for 2010 and have allocated charity quilts through the first half of 2011. I will reassess my goals as needed.
